34th European Vegetation Survey (EVS) Conference in Clermont-Ferrand, France and call for papers
The 34th European Vegetation Survey (EVS) Conference will take place at the Polydome convention center in Clermont-Ferrand, France, from 7-11 September 2026, with a post-symposium excursion running through 13 September.
The event is jointly organised by the International Association for Vegetation Science (IAVS), the European Vegetation Survey, the French Phytosociological Society (SFP), Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA), and the University of Western Brittany (UBO). It will bring together researchers from across Europe to explore the latest advances in vegetation science, ecological restoration, vegetation dynamics, biodiversity conservation, and habitat management.
The conference programme will cover a range of topics, including historical vegetation data, monitoring and dynamics, conservation and restoration strategies, and the classification of European vegetation and habitats. Two excursions are planned - a mid-symposium excursion and a post-symposium excursion - offering participants the chance to explore the rich diversity of vegetation, plant communities, and landscapes of the Auvergne region.
At the close of the conference, Pensoft will award a prize for best presentation, with the winner receiving a free publication in a journal of their choice from the publisher's portfolio.
Call for Papers: Vegetation Ecology and Diversity - Special Collection on European Vegetation
We invite all participants of the 34th EVS Conference to submit their presented work to the journal Vegetation Ecology and Diversity (VED), for the Special Collection "Diversity, Dynamics, Conservation, and Restoration of European Vegetation." The collection is edited by Corrado Marcenò, Alicia Teresa Rosario Acosta, Jorge Capelo, Alessandro Silvestre Gristina, Anna Kuzemko, Salza Palpurina, and Salvatore Pasta. It is a permanent, ongoing collection in VED dedicated to papers related to the activities of the European Vegetation Survey (EVS).
